Pet groomer Gwendolyn Bryant (Gwendolyn Bryant) has spent 25 years in her craft, and she wants her four-legged client to wag his tail when she leaves her new Hayden company.
Kobe's new store, Mountain Mutts Grooming, opened on Monday, and she believes it will satisfy Hayden's demand for pet groomers.
"I live in Hayden, so when I work (a beauty salon in Steamboat), many of my clients come to Steamboat, so they want to know when I will open a store in Hayden. "Bryant said. "I knew there was a demand, so I decided to bite the bullet and open a shop."
Mountain Mutts, located at 115 W. Jefferson Ave., will provide Hayden and Craig's dog owners with an alternative to stay in Hayden instead of going out of town for service.
The store is open from 8 am to 4 pm from Monday to Friday, and from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday. Welcome to visit, but Bryant recommends that customers call 970-761-3180 in advance.
"It's a perfect location. When we moved here for the first time, I looked at it and I thought, I need that place," Bryant said.
Bryant and her husband have been renovating and preparing 600 square feet of space in the past few months to provide customers with a professional beauty experience. The salon provides a full-service beauty service, according to the owner's specifications, the canine teeth are put down, bathed and sculpted.
There are many packages available, including a package called Mountain Adventures, which includes citrus or neem shampoo, coat blowing, ultra-tight contour trim or full cut, tooth brushing, nails, hand cream and headband. There is also The 4 Seasons, which aims to relieve undercoat through hair removal shampoo and conditioner, hair removal (the process of reducing hair removal), hair removal, raking, nail trimming, claw shaving and contour trimming. There is also a mountain trial, a basic spa package including shampoo and conditioner, haircut and nail trim. The price depends on the dog's packaging and size.
Mountain Mutts also provides a la carte service, including nail trimming and tooth brushing, and will provide special trimming and haircuts.
Bryant previously worked as a dog groomer in Colorado Springs. He also worked as a groomer for 10 years and traveled with breeders and dog owners who wanted to show their dogs. Three years ago, she and her husband Stephen moved to Hayden and have been working at the Gunpowder Hound Grooming Salon in Steamboat Springs.
"I don't want to be a dog groomer," Bryant said. "This is one of my careers."
When Bryant was working as a technician at a dog daycare and veterinary hospital, the dog groomer at a salon next door asked for help.
"I went there and took a bath for her, and then you know, she was like,'You need to be a beautician,'" Bryant said. "She said,'You have talent, I see it, and I want to train you to be a beautician.'"
For the next three years, Kobe worked with this woman who became her mentor and continued to obtain a license.
Although she may not intend to become a dog groomer, it is easy to see her when she is standing in her own space surrounded by her German shepherd Emma Skye and Labrador Retriever Timber Shade. The love of animals.
If all goes well in the next few months, Kobe hopes to rent the space next door and provide self-service dog washing, specialty food, toys, jackets and other items needed by mountain dogs. Currently, she will focus on beauty.
"There is huge demand throughout the region," Bryant said. "Everyone is at a loss. So the demand for another dog owner is very high. You know we are a dog county in the United States after all, and you know everyone has one."
